Lincoln riding in the rental car on the way to MD

Time finally came to get the rental car and hit the road for our trip to Maryland. Bryan took sunday off and went to get the rental car. Avis was a hassle! We almost didn't get the rental and then 5 minutes before they closed we had what we needed and got it. Bryan came home with the car, we loaded up and were off! Lincoln was such a good boy. He played with his toys and looked at his Miss Spider book a lot and chatted away. He fussed a few times but we stopped and gave him a new diaper and bought him some milk and he was good again. The trip was only supposed to take us 6 1/2 hours but there were merging sections all over PA so that ended up adding 2 hours onto our trip there. We got there about 9pm and we checked in to the hotel, brought our stuff in, and then went down the road met with our friends for a half hour or so then back to hotel for bed. We woke up the next morning and were headed to Washington DC to the zoo there. It was another hour or so in the car to get there. It was a huge zoo but it was cool. We got done with that and went back to the room and changed and went out to eat and had some crabs. My friends little boy wasnt feeling well so we cut the night short and just went back to our room and relaxed cause the next day was going to be a 2 hour trip to Ocean city. My friend Stephanie and I walked the boardwalk there with the kids while her significant other and Bryan went fishing in the ocean for flounder or whatever. We met up with the boys and they caught us some starfish and then we all headed to the beach. Lincoln loved the sand and loved the waves. He kept trying to run into the big waves. He was pooped out that night so we just got pizza and hung out at our friends place. Then we woke up ate some food went and said good bye and headed back to NY. It was a short trip but we had fun and it was nice finally meeting them. We are going to go back next year for longer and just stay in Ocean city all together so we can go to the beach easier with the kids. Can't wait for them to come here and visit in the fall.

Lincoln turned 1 on the 22nd. He spent his actual birthday in the rental car coming home from our mini vacation. He had his birthday party on Saturday. We had a Dr. Suess Green Eggs and Ham theme. A lot of kids came and he had fun playing. The weather was nice. The honey bee's we have living in the front of our house decided that they were going to swarm twice that day. They did once in the morning while i was decorating for the party on a branch as long as my arm so I thought we'd be ok after they left.NOPE in the middle of the party all over the side of my house some more decided to make a clump so that cleared some people out and the rest of us had to shove inside our small house till the bee's decided they were done scarring people away. The exterminator is finally getting a call. They are going to have to tear the front of our house off but its worth it for them to be gone hopefully for good. Lincoln got a lot of cool toys and I managed not to cry that my baby is now 1!!! The party was crazy and I was happy when it was done then i realized I have many more to come lol. I can't believe he is 1 already.

Almost vacation/birthday time!!

We went and did our grocery shopping for our trip today. We leave sunday after Bryan gets done with work and then we are off to Baltimore! Then we come back on Wednesday which is Lincoln's birthday and then its his party on Saturday! I cant believe he is already almost 1 year old. Its exciting but I know I will certainly cry!! My baby who I used to be able to just sit in a chair and rock with is currently sitting beside me in his room tearing out all the blankets in his basket and laughing like a crazy man! The last 2 days instead of sitting down and crawling to get something he is really trying to walk to it. Today he started toward Bryan and he got about 5 steps and squat down like he was going to sit but he stood right back up, regained his balance and got about 4 more steps in. I was so proud of him. He has learned this week alone to say Nana for Bryan's mom he learned up, FINALLY mom/mama and he asked for more pizza today he said ore lol. He is just the best and I do look forward to the changes coming but will for sure miss the new baby stage but im not done yet so i will have that again. We are just ready to go to Ocean City and to the Washington Zoo and to meet our buddies and just have a nice little trip. Im hoping it will be warmer than the 60 degree day we had here today!
