Lincoln's first Christmas is over

Well we enjoyed Lincoln's first Christmas. He got a TON of great toys and clothes and some books. He got passed around and loved every minute of it. We went to Bryan's god fathers house for a little bit on Christmas Eve. Lincoln got a huge teddy bear there. Then we woke up with him on Christmas day and he did his stocking and played with some toys. Then we went up to Big moose and spent the night there with my sister and rob and the girls and Ida of course and we opened gifts there. Then on Friday we all went to see my dad and the girls and we went to our Grandparents house which I haven't been to in years. But it was fun and everyone loved seeing Lincoln. We woke up on Christmas day and he got his FIRST TOOTH!!! Its on the bottom and it looks super cute on him. The one next to it is starting to come through too. They grow WAY to fast. Tomorrow for New Years we are going out to dinner with our friends who are expecting their first baby this spring and other than that we are staying home on New Years Eve cause we got Lincoln now and we never really did do much. Well 2008 has been a GREAT year and I hope everyone else had a happy '08 and has just as a happy of an '09. Happy new year!!

Christmas is getting closer

Christmas is getting closer and like every year, I feel unprepared lol. I have been able to do some online shopping while Lincoln is napping so that's been good. The wreath business has gone crazy this year. So far we have made over 200 wreath's. It has been a lot more busy since last year. It is neat to have a business and to watch it get bigger every season. I woke up this morning and did what I thought was going to be all my christmas cards. I ordered 30 thinking that was gonna leave me with some extras but nope I ran out and so I had to order some more. Lincoln is teething so he has to wear a bib a lot because he just soaks through his shirts if he doesn't. Last night was his second night out of our bed and sleeping in the pack n' play. Last night was his first full night and he did great. When he sleeps through the whole night then he will go in his nursery but for now he is in our bedroom in the pack n play where he is easy and fast to get to when he is crying for food in the night. He has a jumperoo that he had no interest in before but the last few days the horse is his favorite. He gets in there and he starts jumping like a crazy man...he is still to short to reach the floor so he has a pillow underneath but he is so into it. He has started to shove toys in his mouth and eat his shirt and lean for toy's so im hoping he is fine. I have to wait till after thursday to find out when he has to go to that specialist because the doc office has been blowing me off for two weeks now and they said the doc was out til thursday so i am just waiting more.

Thanksgiving over and ready for Christmas

Lincoln's first Turkey day was fun. It was our first time having Thanksgiving at our house and we had 8 people plus Bryan's mom's dog so in our tiny house that was a party. Bryan's sister did most of the cooking and I made Deviled Eggs, Beer bread, and a Spinach and Herb dip which was a big hit! We all ate and chatted and Lincoln got passed around then after everyone went home Bryan, Linc, and I went up to Big Moose and spent the night with my sister Jen and her husband rob and the kids. Now that turkey day is over we are so busy with Christmas Wreath orders. We had 100 to make for the Remsen Band and when that order is done we have to make over 200 for Candella's Market in Marcy so my front room is filled with balsam and wreaths a bows. We spent all day Sunday Making 100 bows for the band order. We moved the machine into our front room with the cement floor this year so that we wouldnt have to go to Barneveld and freeze in the unheated stand to make them. It is a LOT nicer.

Lincoln has his 4 month check up

Lincoln went yesterday for his 4 month check up. He weighed 14 pounds and 7 ounces. He was 25" long. The doc said he is barring all his weight on his legs and they said that was advanced for a 4 month old. We did have some issues with how he focuses more on objects than people's faces and they held him and had me call his name and see if he would go towards my voice and he didn't. They want to send him to a NeuroMuscular doctor in Syracuse and have him checked. They think he might be either deaf in one ear or have something wrong with his ear and thats why he wont look at people because he just cant hear you or if it's something more. We are both worried but are hoping everything is ok with our little man. Other than that he was great! Growing like a weed and he is the cutest little guy ever but of course I think that, Im his mom lol!

Well Friday was Halloween and we didn't go all out and decorate as we have the last few years but we put some out. Lincoln had a caterpillar costume that Bryan didnt like at all and Lincoln could only stand it for like 10 minutes before getting angry so he wore it to see our neighbor and then he became charlie brown. He is slowly starting to really laugh now and when he does its HILARIOUS. He has been drooling all over and just wanting to chew on his hand so I figured he was starting to teethe and then Friday night I looked in his little mouth and sure enough on the bottom I can see a white spot. I can't believe how fast the time is flying by with him. He is such a little man though, he is all rough andtough and he snores like you wouldn't believe. Yesterday we went to Albany because Bryan's goddaughter was getting baptized and Lincoln sat through the whole thing not making a peep just wanting to stand up on my lap and watch. Brie is our neighbors grand daughter and she was born a little over a week before Lincoln so they hung out together yesterday. She will stare at Lincoln and he will just blow her off it's cute.

Well Bryan, Lincoln and I went out to Syracuse to my sisters and we went with her, Rob, Maren and Eve to Beak n' Skiff to pick apples. Maren was so excited to go and we have gone together the last 3 years so its a lot of fun. Lincoln got carried around by Bryan in the Bjorn and was very good as always. He is always very happy. Last weekend we went up to Big Moose so Bryan and Rob could cut some firewood and Jen, Maren and I took the babies down to visit with our dad and Trish and the girls. We have been traveling all over with Lincoln, I'm glad he is a good car rider. He had to go get the remainder of his shots the other day but at least he is set now for another month or so for his 4 months. He weighed 13.9 pounds....he is a little chunk. He is starting to teethe a little I think which isn't fun at all. He has started to enjoy toys this week and its so cute, he has one with a mirror on it and he just is hooked on it. He is growing so fast its sad to me lol. What a little man, he makes a LOT of noise...think he is gonna be a chatter box like his mama lol.

Lincolns 2 month well check appt.

We went yesterday for Lincolns 2 month check up. He weighed in at 12 pounds 3 ounces and he was 24 inches tall. He has some fluid in his manly parts causing them to swell but the doc says that his body should absorb the fluid on its own and if not he will need surgery to close the leak. Other than that she said he was doing wonderful. He has to go back on the 15th to get the rest of his shots and thats that. We are going to stay with my sister this weekend and go apple picking with the whole gang so he will enjoy playing with his little cousin eve and Maren. We set up his jumperoo last night and even on the lowest setting his feet still didnt reach so we had to put a board game underneath so he could push off and he seems to like it. We got to stuff blankets in the seat cause he is too small to fill up the seat and he goes to one side but he will grow into it. Last night was his first night sleeping in his play yard and NOT in our bed....he did alright. He woke up at 3:30 and didnt want to go back in there so he went in the bed then but baby steps....hopefully he will start sleeping through the night soon and it will be easier. He laid on the bed last night watching me and makin baby noises so I would copy him and he would smile and copy me and i was stickin out my tongue and he realized he has one too so he started to do it and smile so it was funny to see him copy me. He is growing up so fast and he is such a little chunk. He is the best thing though and being his mom is great. I can't wait to have more....although Bryan thinks im nuts to want another one so soon but its really the best thing I have ever done. Being a mom is the best feeling and I couldn't ask for a better little man!

Lincoln had his first shots today. I took my neighbor Barbie with me for support cause I knew I'd probably die from seeing him get hurt! We got to the doc's and the fridge they keep the shots in broke so they were only able to get 3 of the shots he needed today and so he will have to go back when they get a new fridge to finish up which sucks and is good at the same time. It sucks that he cant just get it over with till his next set at 6 months or whenever it is but at the same time it gives him a break and maybe he wont be so sore. He was sleeping when they did it but he let out a cry then stopped but when she poked him again he had had enough and didnt stop crying but he slept in the car and when we got to the house I fed him and gave him some more tylenol and asleep he went and now he seems ok....poor thing! I hated it! We went on Saturday to visit my sister and her new baby Eve. It was fun to chat with my sister and hold my new niece and they all enjoyed holding Lincolns heavy little butt! We are going to go back out in two weeks for the whole weekend and take all the rugrats apple picking so that will be fun. This weekend is Barn Fest here in Remsen so we will be busy doing the craft scene....I told Bryan we are buying something this year there so we will see what we get.

2 months old

Lincoln turned two months old yesterday. I cant believe it. Time goes by sooo fast once you have a baby. He goes for his shots Monday and I'm NOT looking forward to it at all. I am going to recruit my neighbor to go with me cause I am sure I will cry. I guess I better get him some baby tylenol before then. He is getting big, he will stare at you now when you talk to him and he will smile up a storm and he is getting his different crys for different things its funny. I left him with Bryans mom while I ran down the street to do laundry and he was fine then i walked in and he heard my voice and he started fussing and it was weird. Its like he knew i was back so he could fuss and I would come running. He is healthy and growing and he is the best little boy. He is starting to cluster feed at night the last few days and thats NOT fun but what are ya gonna do.

life

well fall is definetly almost here...it isnt gonna get above 78 at all this week and last night it was 45 outside brrrr. I like the fall because it means Halloween and Barn Fest and all that but I am not looking forward to snow at all but I won't really have to go out much in the snow because I am staying home with Lincoln. He is getting big. We weighed him yesterday and he was at 11 1/2 pounds. He is such a little man and we are really lucky. Bryan was saying last night "people said raising a baby is hard but it's not hard" I said "we are just lucky and there are people who have colicky babies and one's that don't sleep for 5 hrs at a time at night". Im sure my time will come lol. My sister is getting induced tomorrow to have her baby. I am soooooo excited for her because It has been really rough on her this pregnancy and she has been really sick so im happy she will finally get it over with and I will have a new niece or nephew. I am an aunt to 3 kids thats nuts...One of my nieces I haven't even met before but they live in North Carolina. I love being a mom, I could just stare at Lincoln all day! He seems to be growing sooooo fast! He is wearing size 2 diapers now and he fits in 3 month clothes its nuts. Baby clothes drive me nuts though because some of the 0-3 month clothes are HUGE on him but some 3-6 months he fits....they are all off and it just bugs me lol. He is a very good baby though, he only crys when he is dirty hungry or over tired so he is easy to read. I am trying to figure out what to dress him as on halloween....im searching online for something cute but also not expensive as he is growing like a weed on miracle grow!

5 weeks old already

Lincoln will be 5 weeks old tomorrow and I can't believe it! Time is just going by so fast. He is really starting to be awake longer in the daytime now and he focuses on your face more so thats exciting! We have been hanging out at the farm stand with grandma Robin and being outdoors which he seems to LOVE. Other than that not much has been going on with him. He wasn't feeling well last week but he seems to be better now. We are going to the state fair next weekend and stayin overnight in the pop up camper with him and with Grandma Robin so we will see how that goes lol. At least its only supposed to be in the low 70's so I wont worry so much about him being hot. Tomorrow is Bryan and I's 2 yr wedding anniversary but we probably wont do anything cause I dont know if I am ready to leave the baby lol

3 weeks old

Lincoln is 3 weeks old and some change. I can't believe how the time is flying. His cord fell off so he is able to get real baths now in his tubby and let me tell you he LOVES them. He cries when you take him out its funny. He went for his final jaundice follow up and of course it's all gone and the doctor weighed him and he weighs 9 pounds 5 ounces now....he is such a little man. He goes for his one month appointment on sept 8th and then he has his dreaded appt. on sept. 22nd where he will get all of his shots. I am NOT looking forward to that appointment at all. It's amazing how they can change in a matter of days, now the last 2 days he is tired but he fights falling asleep and you can so tell! Then when he finally goes to sleep, the minute you try to set him down he wakes up. He is alert a lot more often and for longer now and he is into all the lights in the house. We watched a baby Einstein dvd the other day and i held him to the screen and his eyes were goin crazy watching all of the colors on the tv it was funny. We have been getting him used to his baby bjorn cause now he doesnt like to sleep during the day so in order for me to get anything done around here I have to put him in that. We have been Blueberry pickin alot lately and he isnt too bad he hangs in his stroller and sleeps or listens to the outdoor noises but last time he got kinda fussy so im going to bring the bjorn next time and so if he does fuss at least he can go with me in there and I can still pick berries. Time is just flying by it seems. So sad to see it go but I know I have alot more baby time still to go and more changes to look forward to. Im already ready to have more. Being a mom is wonderful and I am lucky to have him cause he is a good boy and I just love snugglin with him at night and watchin him grow.

2 weeks old today

Lincoln is already two weeks old today, I can't believe it! Time flies! Today we went with grandma to pick Blueberries at Swistaks and then we went to Hob Nob farm and fed and watered the horses and then we had to go to Schuyler to get stuff for the stand so he had a very busy day. He has been wanting to eat every half hour these last few days so I am now calling him a Pirhanna lol. Our neighbor came over to see him tonight and brought him two new outfits and thats a good thing cause the little stinker goes through clothes worse than a girl! We cant wait for his cord to fall off so we can give him a real bath in his tubby....its been on long enough i think lol!

adventures already!

Well last night was our first all nighter....he was not a happy camper for some reason. So today I was exhausted but Linc and I went to the produce stand to meet up with grandma woeltje and we went to Rome to meet great grandma Woeltje who is 94. She was soooooo excited to meet the baby and to check him out. So it was a big adventure for Linc.....Tomorrow we might go pick blueberries with grandma Woeltje for the stand but it will depend on the weather and probably how i sleep tonight cause im really tired right now! Im going to go find some food while Bryan is here to hold him while I do whatever then I plan on feeding the lil man and hoping to sleep for a little bit. He is worth it though. Being a mom to him is great and to know he is mine forever is the best feeling. Im proud....we're proud!

Welcome the newest addition to the Davies house!

Well it's been a week since we had Lincoln. It is wonderful! He is wonderful! He went to the doctor yesterday to have his Jaundice checked and the Doc said it is better and should be all gone by Thursday. He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce which is what he weighed when we brought him from the hospital so that's good. He is a good Lil' man! He doesn't really cry much and likes to snuggle. We weren't getting much sleep but that was to be expected but now it has gotten better. I am feeling good still kinda sore but im loving being a mom and Bryan is eatin it up to. The camera has been getting a work out now lol.
